About Aimée

Aimée was born in Yorkshire, England. In her year out between University and School she worked as a volunteer in Zimbabwe on environmental and health care projects. Following this experience she attended The University of Aberdeen, Scotland, where she studied Soil Science and gained a 1st class honors degree and best thesis award. Aimée then studied for her PhD, a collaborative project between KWS SAAT AG  and the University of Aberdeen to investigate soil physical properties on seed germination.  In 2002 Aimée moved from Scotland to Vancouver, Canada where she worked as a  postdoctoral researcher at the University of British Columbia Forestry Department. In 2009 Aimée became a registered horticultural therapist (HTR) with th CHTA.  


Whilst being a stay at home mum she has studied Horticultural Therapy. Aimée worked as an intern with the frail elderly with dementia with supervision from Ann Kent HTM. Aimée has done the Master Gardener training course and through that volunteered for a school garden project in an inner city school with Sharon Hanna. Aimée has volunteered at Banfield Pavilion performing therapeutic horticulture under the supervision of Shelagh Smith HTR.
